Historic Dahlonega-Site of the first major gold rush and considered to be one of the most quaint and picturesque historical towns in the North Georgia mountains. Visit the historical square with all of the shops and restaurants.
Visit the Gold Museum on the square to learn the history of the area or take a tour into a mine shaft to learn how gold was processed.
Seasonal Festivals/Special Events-From the famous Gold Rush to Bear on the Square Festivals. Also special bike races and seasonal events such as the 6 Gap Century Bike race and Christmas festivities. Visitfestivalsfor more information.
Beautiful Waterfalls-Lumpkin County and the Dahlonega area have many waterfalls to see. Desoto Falls
is north of the inn and a guest favorite.Tallulah Gorge is east of the inn and makes a great daytrip.
Amicalola Falls State Park-See the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi. Hike up to the falls, fish in the trout pond or hike to the start of the Appalachian Trail.
Sautee/Nacoochee Valley- The
Folk Pottery Museumin Sautee/Nacoochee is not too far away and is very interesting. Located southwest of Helen. Shapiro's Gallery is also a neat stop.
Catch trophy troutin the many streams and lakes.
Vineyards/Wineries-This area is rapidly becoming the wine region of North Georgia. Several vineyards are nearby with tours, wine tastings, winemakers dinners and special events. Visitwineries nearbyfor more information.
Hiking-The Chattahoochee National Forest owns thousands of acres of mountain forests. The beginning of the Appalachian Trail is nearby. Public access is available for hiking and exploring nature. Hiker Hostel provides a shuttle service (for a fee) if you want to do day hikes on the AT (770)312-7342.
Go tubing, kayaking or canoeing on the Chestatee or Etowah Rivers with Appalachian Outfitters (706) 864-7117. Great way to cool off in the summer.
Swimming in a Cool Mountain Creek-
Many of the locals enjoy Dick's Creek for cooling off during those warm summer days. Located a short drive from the inn the creek features large rocks for sun bathing and cool pools of mountain stream water. Bring your bathing suit and beach towels. Bathroom facility also nearby.
Take a guided hike, mountain bike or kayak tour

atZipN Timewhich isn't too far from the inn.They have the longest dual zipline in Georgia.

Bicycling-Ride your road bicycle up the mountain to Suches on Highway 19 that adjoins our property (very popular) or mountain bike in the national forests. Tour de Georgia 2008
had its Stage 5 Finish in Dahlonega.
